How should I order a coffee with 1/2 hot water at Starbucks?
aziola asked:
I order a coffee at Starbucks with 1/2 hot water since I think their coffee is too strong. When I tell them, “I want a coffee with 1/2 hot water” they always look confused. How should I order this in the future?
I have been asking for 1/2 hot water and that is when I get the confused look by baristas.
I like the flavor of Starbucks and don’t like Dunkin and McDonalds coffee.

Ask for watered-down coffee.

Just say I want a (size) coffee with 1/2 hot water.
If you get a grande make sure they only charge you for a tall, since your not getting a full size, same with venti, make sure they charge you for a grande.

I had a lady come in and order that everyday when I used to work at Starbucks. I always thought, why does this lady come in and order a coffee with half hot water? Why not just go to McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts and get coffee there because it is not as strong? It’s cheaper too.

It would be nice to know what size coffee you drink.
if you want a grande (16 oz) coffee half hot water. You should order a short coffee (8oz) in a grande cup, with hot water.
because half of 16 is eight, it will save you a good amount of money over time.
Now if you want a venti (20 oz) you should order a tall (12oz) coffee in a venti cup, with hot water.
This is the easiest way for us baristas to know what you want.
Keep in mind you can ask the people at the counter and they will be more then happy to teach you an easy way to order a drink.
